One of the biggest trends at this year’s High Point Market was the use of bold, bright color. There wasn’t a specific color that stood out, showrooms were just presenting accessories, fabrics, and accent pieces in a variation of colors. A break from the few years before that focused on soft neutrals and more conservative color choices, this year’s market was refreshing and uplifting. If you have moved towards a more neutral pallet, fear not, it is easy to bring in colorful accents that will offset your neutrals. Take, for example, this room by designer Tobi Fairley. By adding bright and patterned pillows and punchy end tables, this neutral sofa is completely transformed. There aren’t a ton of elements that make this room feel energized- simply a few throw pillows and bold accent pieces. Following trends in interior design doesn’t mean completely changing your furniture every few years. By changing out accessories and accent pieces a space can feel completely different and on-trend.
